Snapshots of MigFoRest trees in their first springs

Below you see a few snapshots (taken last week) of the first MigFoRest trees which we planted at the beginning of last winter. 

What you see here are Quercus canariensis and Quercus pyrenaica. Of course they are still very small and fragile but we are happy to see that they recovered very well from their assisted migration trip from Andalousia and South-West France to Belgium (Condroz area). 😊

Interesting to see also (on the last picture) that some of the Quercus pyrenaica that we planted last winter are only slowly approaching the bud burst stage. That is in fact good news because this could mean that those species are better adapted to the risk of late frosts in our countries.
